Part 1 “M” intelligence.

1. Since Russia’s declaration of war
against Japan is now only a matter of a few
weeks, preparations along the Russian-Manchukuoan
border and in Karafuto are progressing rapidly.
Before declaring war, Russia will confer
with the leaders of the Chinese Communists.
Moreover, it seems that Russia will negotiate in
advance with Chungking representatives, before
declaring war, in order to provide against a
post-war single-handed American advance Into the
Far East.

Part 2  2. In view of the vast concentration of
troop strength (British, American, Canadian, Indian,
and Australian troops: total 600,000), material
and ships at Malaya operations bases, it is believed
that these operations will begin in July. Already,
more than 400 liaison men have been dropped by para-
chute into Malaya and the Dutch possessions in
order to lead the guerillas.
